Fatima
Nestled in the heart of Portugal, the town of Fátima is one of the world’s most cherished spiritual destinations. Known globally for the Marian apparitions of 1917, Fátima has transformed from a quiet rural village into a beacon of faith, reflection, and peace that draws millions of visitors each year.
You´ll explore the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima a sacred complex built on the very site where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to three shepherd children: Lúcia, Jacinta, and Francisco. Within this complex you´ll find the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where the tombs of the three visionaries are located, the strikingly modern Basilica of the Holy Trinity, one of the largest churches in the world and the Chapel of the Apparitions, marking the exact spot of the first apparition.

Aveiro
Aveiro, next to the sea and the ria (estuary), is crossed by a network of channels through which moliceiros (local boats) meander. These slim, colourful vessels used to be used to collect algae and seaweed, and today are for sightseeing trips.
Aveiro has a number of buildings in Art Nouveau style that are worth seeing. Many are situated along the main channel, but there are some off the beaten track and in other locations.
Emblematic of the city is the sweet made with eggs and sugar - the “ovos moles" (soft eggs) that are sold in wooden barrels or wrapped in a crusty wafer in different shapes.
