Mahogany Hammock Trail
Mahogany Hammock Trail, takes you into one of the park's most impressive hardwood forests.
A raised boardwalk winds through ancient mahogany trees, some of the largest in the United States. It's a half-mile loop, shaded and peaceful, where you might spot barred owls or the rare white-crowned pigeon. Hopefully, no pythons or alligators.
There are no restrooms here, and it takes twenty to thirty minutes. The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and easy for all ages.

Point de départ du sentier Pinelands
This is the starting point for the short, paved Pinelands Trail. This easy, point 4 mile loop immerses visitors in one of Florida’s rarest habitats: the pine rocklands, featuring slash pines, palmetto bushes, and small tropical hardwood patches. The trail is wheelchair accessible and shaded.

À la tour d'observation de Hay-Okee
The Pa-Hay-Okee Observation Tower ahead on the right was built so visitors could see what those Seminole scouts saw.
It features a short boardwalk leading to a raised platform with sweeping panoramic views. Wildlife is limited, but a worthwhile stop.
And of note, Pa-Hay-Okee means "Grassy Waters" in the Seminole language.

Nine Mile Pond Trail
Our next site, the Nine Mile Pond, gets its name from being roughly nine miles from Flamingo.
The canoe trail is a five-point-two-mile loop winding through narrow channels, sawgrass prairies, and mangrove tunnels. It's one of the park's most popular paddling routes because it offers something you can't get from the road.
