Selon la légende, les marins locaux auraient prêté serment à l'icône de la Vierge à l'Enfant, trouvée sur un rocher en mer. À leur retour de chaque traversée réussie, ils déposaient un rocher dans la baie, et au fil du temps, la petite île a émergé.
Aujourd'hui, l'île abrite l'église Notre-Dame-des-Rochers. Elle abrite plus de 70 œuvres d'art, dont la Mort de la Vierge, longue de dix mètres.
L'île est accessible par une courte traversée en bateau. Vous pouvez également explorer la ville de Perast pendant votre temps libre.
