Complexe du temple de Dendérah

Start your day tour (almost 1h30 drive) to the magnificent Dendera Temple one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. Originally founded during the reign of Pharaoh Pepi I (2250 BC), the complex was expanded over centuries and reached its final form during the Greco-Roman period.
Explore the breathtaking Temple of Hathor, renowned for its remarkably preserved architecture and vibrant ceiling decorations. Following a meticulous restoration project, centuries of soot were removed to reveal some of the most colorful and impressive ancient paintings still visible today.
Discover the famous Dendera Zodiac, admire the mysterious underground crypts once used to store sacred artifacts and temple records. On the exterior rear wall, view the remarkable reliefs depicting Queen Cleopatra VII and her son Caesarion. Enjoy free time to explore at leisure, then continue your journey to the sacred city of Abydos.

Continue (almost 2hours drive) to Abydos, one of Egypt’s most important religious centers. Upon arrival, explore the magnificent Temple of Seti I, built by King Seti I and completed by his son Ramses II in honor of Osiris, the god of the afterlife and resurrection.
Admire the temple’s exceptionally preserved reliefs and intricate carvings, including the famous Abydos King List, which records the names of Egypt’s pharaohs from the First Dynasty through the Nineteenth Dynasty. Discover the temple’s seven sacred chapels dedicated to Horus, Isis, Osiris, Amun-Ra, Ptah, Seti I, and Re-Horakhty.
Continue to the mysterious Osireion, located behind the temple and believed to symbolize the legendary tomb of Osiris. After your guided visit, enjoy some free time to explore the temple at your own pace before returning to Luxor.
