Parc national de Kakum
Kakum National Park, located in the Central Region of Ghana, is a stunning tropical rainforest reserve established in 1931 and officially opened to the public in 1994. Spanning over 375 square kilometers, it is home to diverse wildlife, including elephants, antelopes, monkeys, and over 250 species of birds.
The park's most famous attraction is the Canopy Walkway, a series of hanging bridges suspended 30 meters (100 feet) above the forest floor, offering visitors a thrilling bird’s-eye view of the lush, green canopy below. The experience provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in nature while walking through the treetops, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the vibrant rainforest. Château d'Elmina
Elmina Castle, located in Elmina, Ghana, is the oldest European building in Sub-Saharan Africa, built by the Portuguese in 1482. Initially established as a trading post for gold, it later became a major hub in the transatlantic slave trade. Over the centuries, it was controlled by various European powers, including the Dutch and the British.
The castle’s whitewashed walls, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, are a stark contrast to its dark history. It housed enslaved Africans in cramped dungeons before they were shipped across the Atlantic. Today, Elmina Castle stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering visitors a sobering look into Africa’s colonial and slave trade history.

Château de Cape Coast
Cape Coast Castle: A Window into History
Cape Coast Castle, located along Ghana’s scenic coastline, is one of the most significant historical landmarks in West Africa. Built by the Swedes in the 17th century and later controlled by the British, this fortress played a central role in the transatlantic slave trade. Its dark dungeons once held countless Africans before they were forced onto ships bound for the Americas.
Today, the castle stands as a powerful reminder of the past, offering visitors a moving experience through guided tours, preserved relics, and the haunting "Door of No Return." Beyond its history, Cape Coast Castle also offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, making it a place of both reflection and beauty.
A visit here is an emotional journey—one that connects the past to the present and reminds us of the resilience of the human spirit.
