Galata Koprusu
The Galata Bridge is one of Istanbul's most iconic structures, connecting the old city (Eminönü) with the modern part (Karaköy). The first bridge at this location was built in 1845 during the Ottoman Empire. Since then, several versions have been constructed. The current bridge was completed in 1994.
Throughout history, the Galata Bridge has been a symbol of Istanbul’s unity and diversity. It has also played an important role in transportation and daily life, with fishermen, trams, and pedestrians using it every day. Under the bridge, there are many restaurants and cafes offering a beautiful view of the Bosphorus.
