Vine City is one of Atlanta's oldest black neighborhoods. During the Civil Rights Movement, Vine City became a focal point for activism and leadership. The neighborhood served as a base for organizing peaceful protests and advocating for racial equality.

Originally established in the mid-19th century, Castleberry Hill has gone through periods of decline and revitalization, ultimately becoming a thriving arts and cultural district.
