Miyama Kayabuki Yurari-Kaido Street
Miyama Kayabuki Village, also known as “Miyama Kayabuki no Sato,” is one of Japan’s three major remaining thatched-roof villages. Surrounded by mountains and peaceful countryside, this charming village features traditional farmhouses with thick straw roofs, offering visitors a glimpse into Japan’s rural past. It is often compared to Shirakawa-go and Ouchi-juku for its preserved historic atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy strolling through quiet lanes, taking scenic photos, visiting small local museums, and tasting regional snacks.
