Our next stop is the Tetteh Quarshie cocoa farm in Akuapim-Mampong, Ghana’s Eastern Region. Established in 1879 by Tetteh Quarshie, this farm is Ghana’s first commercial cocoa plantation. Quarshie, a skilled blacksmith, introduced cocoa to Ghana upon his return from Fernando Po (modern-day Equatorial Guinea) in 1879. While the origins of the cocoa beans are surrounded by speculation, the farm stands as a testament to Quarshie's legacy. Visitors can witness two original cocoa trees, over 145 years old, still bearing fruit.

Route downhill along the scenic landscapes and arrive at Oboadaka – a 20-minute car ride from the Aburi Botanical Gardens. Adorned with thick green foliage, and a series of steep drops over a few rock steps, Oboadaka waterfall is estimated to have a height of about 623ft above ground level.
