Villa Erba
Construite entre 1898 et 1901 sous la direction des architectes Angelo Savoldi et Giovan Battista Borsani, cette majestueuse villa appartenait initialement à la famille Erba, chimistes milanais. Carla, fille de Luigi, premier propriétaire de la Villa Erba, épousa le duc Giuseppe Visconti di Modrone ; leur fils, le célèbre réalisateur Luchino Visconti, séjourna également dans cette demeure et y travailla au montage de son film « Ludwig ».

Villa del Balbianello
The villa was built in 1787 by cardinal Angelo Maria Durini; later, it was bought by a Milanese politician, who hosted artists and intellectuals such as Alessandro Manzoni, Giovanni Berchet and Giuseppe Giusti.
After a long period of decay, it was bought in 1974 by an explorer, Guido Monzino, who left it as a heritage to the Italian Fund for Environment.
