You will be picked up from your hotel in Delhi and driven to Rishikesh that is situated at a distance of 170 miles from Delhi. The drive to Rishikesh takes around 6 hours. Rishikesh catapulted to fame when the Beatles dropped by for a visit to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Ashram.
Upon your arrival in Rishikesh, check in to your hotel and spend a few hours at leisure. Before sunset you will be driven to the banks of the River Ganges to watch the spectacular Ganga aarti (prayer ceremony). The evening sky gets lit up by the numerous lamps that are lighted to worship the River Ganges. The whole atmosphere becomes serene as monks and priests chant holy mantras (hymns) and the pilgrims float lamps on the river. After the prayer ceremony return to your hotel and have dinner (beverage excluded).
