Day 1: Puerto Maldonado - Colorado - Manu Wildlife Center
1 Stop
1
Puerto Maldonado
Our service starts with an early morning reception and transfer by van to Santa Rosa Village, a two-and-a half-hour journey. From there, a 15- minute boat trip across the Inambari river to Puerto Carlos, followed by a 45-minute car ride to Boca Colorado, and finally, a four-and-a half-hour boat journey upstream the Madre de Dios river. We reach Manu Wildlife Center for lunch. Later, we explore some of the 13 miles of forest trails surrounding the lodge, with a chance to spot some of the 12 species of monkeys, such as the Spider Monkey and Emperor Tamarin. After dinner, a night walk along the trails to observe the nocturnal wildlife of the rainforest.
