Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
Departing from Alice Springs or Yulara (Uluru Airport)
Your journey into the Red Centre begins as we head towards the iconic Uluru. Guests joining from Alice Springs enjoy a scenic drive with a stop at Mt Conner lookout—often mistaken for Uluru and a quick break at Curtin Springs before arriving at our campground for lunch.
In the afternoon we visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to learn about the area's rich Aboriginal heritage, geology, and ecology. From here, we travel to the base of Uluru, where we walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole, exploring sacred rock art and hearing ancient Dreamtime stories of Kuniya and Liru. Next, we continue to Kantju Gorge, passing significant cultural sites such as an elder’s cave and traditional food storage areas. If we’re lucky, we may witness Central Australia's tallest waterfall after rain. As the day ends, we settle in for a breathtaking Uluru sunset, with a freshly prepared dinner and panoramic views a perfect close to an incredible first day
