Yoshida Family Residence
Yoshida Residence (Mima City, Tokushima Prefecture)
The Yoshida Residence is a historic merchant house preserving the atmosphere of the late Edo period. Located in Wakimachi's "Udatsu Townscape," it once belonged to Naobei Yoshida, a wealthy indigo merchant from 1792. The layout—with the main house and storehouses surrounding a courtyard—offers a vivid glimpse into the past.
Visitors can explore meeting rooms, accounting offices, and servant quarters, as well as remaining of a boat landing that reflects the trade along the Yoshino River. Together with the surrounding traditional architecture, this spot offers a tangible sense of local history and culture.
*An admission fee of 510 yen is required to enter this spot. (Approx. 30 minutes needed)
