The minibus picks you up outside your hotel and takes you to the port in Gouves, where the boat leaves. DAY & SUNSET of 4.5-5h: During the trip (aprox. 1 hour) to the Island Dia the captain will explain some of the history and secrets about the protected Island Dia. Reaching the Island Dia, it is time to walk to the little church or just enjoy the silence by snorkeling, swimming, fishing, sunbathing. Then it is time to try the delight Cretan food that is prepared by the skipper. After food the boat slowly sails back to the port of Gouves where you can see the coast line from a new point of view. Or enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets of the world. SUNSET of 3h: You sail to the St. George Bay in aprox. 35min. Reaching the Bay, it is time for swimming. When History meets art and craft. This excursion is for those who want to discover Crete from Rethymnon without a long way driving in bus. We start from the most important monastery of Crete: The Historical Monastery of Arkadi. Afterward, you will enjoy a guided tour to the pottery workshop “TSIKALARIO", where Mrs Helen will show us the art of pottery. Right after, in a 2 km distance only, you will visit Margarites village where you will have free time for a lunch or a walk. After that, we will visit Melidoni Vilage and explore Melidoni cave at an altitude of 220 meters. You will discover an amazing cave filled full with stalactites and stalagmites, but also full of History. At the end of the tour we will visit a traditional olive oil mill, where you’ll have free time to learn about olive oil production and enjoy a tasting of premium Cretan olive oil.

We reach the famous beach of Matala. This is the place where Zeus, having taken the form a bull, swam ashore with Europa on his back before dragging her off to Gortys. Both the Minoans and the Romans used the place as their harbor. Nevertheless, for most people, Matala means only one thing: hippies. Back in the late 1960s - 1970s, this little town was a colony of the “flower children”, who lived in the caves that used to be former Roman tombs. Here we will enjoy the crystal waters, the warm sun and lunch by the sea, while later we can explore the prehistoric caves, carved on the steep rocks of the area.

Our final stop is in Neapolis, where we’ll visit the Cultural Museum and explore Crete’s rich heritage, traditional tools, and artifacts that bring the island’s past to life.

La plage de Prévéli, également connue sous le nom de lac Prévéli ou Phénix, se situe à la sortie des imposantes gorges de Kourtaliotikos, où coule la Grande Rivière (Megalos Potamos).
