Coca
This corner of the Amazon is located at a distance of approximately 300 km from Quito, the capital of Ecuador. It is located in the Francisco de Orellana province and is popularly known as "El Coca", because in the past the indigenous natives of the surrounding areas, the Tagaeris or Sachas, visited this place to perform their healing rituals with chewed coca leaves. Francisco de Orellana belongs to the Napo basin and the sub-basins of Coca, Payamino, Tiputini, Cononaco, Indillama, and Yasuní; precisely the rivers that surround the city are what enchant its residents and foreigners
El Coca is a city rich in its people, where the traditions of the Kichwa, Waorani, and Shuar nationalities are combined with the cultural characteristics of the mestizos and Afro-Ecuadorians who are part of local development.
