Lauterbrunnen is a picturesque Swiss village located at 795 m (2,608 ft) in one of the Alps’ deepest U-shaped valleys. Surrounded by 300-meter vertical cliffs and home to 72 waterfalls, it features highlights such as Staubbach Falls—one of Europe’s highest free-falling waterfalls—and the subterranean glacier streams of Trümmelbach Falls. The village sits just 20 minutes from Interlaken and serves as a gateway to the Jungfrau Region, with quick connections to Wengen, Mürren, the Jungfraujoch, and Schilthorn. Its blend of dramatic scenery, classic Swiss chalets, and world-class hiking makes it a top destination for nature and adventure travelers.
