Swakopmund Jetty
Mondesa was the exiled neighborhood where blacks were sidelined during apartheid , while whites and rich were concentrated in the city center. Although the system of racial segregation was abolished in 1991, it is still possible today to observe the traces of this dark part of history.
You will stroll through the streets of Mondesa, discovering its culture. You will see the kindness of the people, who will not hesitate to welcome you and invite you to taste one of their craft beers or some of their typical dishes , such as mopane worms (grilled caterpillars). During the visit, you can enjoy other traditional dishes, so that your cultural immersion is complete.
In addition, you can interact with locals and immerse yourself in the heart of African culture and history. You will have the opportunity to learn a few words in khoe-khoe , the local language, and understand the meaning of the term " buntu" . Do you know why he is so important today in Africa?
