The tour begins with a video shown in a movie theater at the Visitor Center, which tells the story of the dam's construction. The video is about 10 minutes long. Accompanied by a guide, the tour continues on a double-decker bus around the exterior of the dam, with three stops for panoramic views. In addition to the privileged view of the spillway at the top of the dam, the route also allows contact with nature and beautiful landscapes within the Itaipu Tourist Complex.
