Itinerary
1
Woodstock
Woodstock is a gorgeous town to explore any time of the year! If you aren't planning to spend time here already, we can include this as part of your tour. Shopping, lunch, or just a walk around town... depending on how you want your day to go and if you'd like to avoid the crowds or not. The day is customized to your small group.
1 hour
2
Mount Ascutney
A gorgeous vantage point for long views of foliage! We can add this to your tour if you'd like!
45 minutes
3
Okemo Mountain Resort
We can drive close to the summit then a short hike (less than a half mile, but it's up hill!) will get us to some great long distance views of foliage.
1 hour
4
Reading
We'll explore back roads and hidden views around this town and others in the area. I select which towns based on where your home base is -- the tour truly starts the moment you get in the Bronco.
You'll see:
- beautiful stone walls
- pastures with cows, horses, sheep or alpaca grazing
- farms - dairy, horse, sheep, old and new!
- quiet woods with beautiful foliage spring, summer and fall, of course!
- small streams - pause a moment and just listen.
- maple syrup lines crisscrossing a forest
- and more, based on what we talk about before and during your tour
1 hour
5
Lincoln Covered Bridge
One of MANY covered bridges we'll drive through, stop to photograph and enjoy. This is a fairly well-known one, but I include bridges you won't find on any 'top 10' lists... they're quiet and off the beaten path, often allowing you to walk in, around and even under them!
30 minutes
6
Long Trail Brewing Company
If you'd like to have a sit-down lunch, Long Trail is a great example of where we might stop. In nice weather you can sit out on the deck overlooking the Ottauquechee River. Enjoy a flight of their beers if you'd like, I'm driving!
1 hour
7
Vermont Country Store
This is a favorite stop for many tour guests! Step back in time when you browse the shelves, find Vermont souvenirs, try some maple candy, enjoy an old-fashioned glass bottle of Coca-Cola.
