Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar – Beginning of Acclimatization
Your Umlingla Pass Cycling Expedition begins as you land at Srinagar Airport, situated at an altitude of 1,585 meters (5,200 feet). This first stop plays a crucial role in your acclimatization process, helping your body gradually adjust to the higher altitudes you’ll encounter in the coming days.
Our MTB Kashmir executive will receive you at the airport and assist with your transfer to the hotel in Srinagar. The day is kept for rest and light activity — you may explore Dal Lake or nearby local markets at your own pace.
Spending the first night in Srinagar ensures a comfortable and safe start to your journey, preparing you for the adventure ahead towards Leh (3,500m) and finally the mighty Umlingla Pass (19,024 ft).
