Uros Floating Islands
The Uros are a group of 100 artificial islands made entirely of totora reeds, a plant that grows in the shallow areas of Lake. Stepping onto these islands is like stepping onto a giant floating straw mat.
During your visit, Uros will welcome you onto their islands and into their small houses to show their way of life. You’ll learn how they build the islands, their homes, and even boats.
They’ll likely demonstrate how fresh reeds are added constantly (every few weeks) to maintain the islands. Travelers can interact with the locals, browse handicrafts. One popular activity here is an optional ride on a traditional reed boat, often shaped like puma (extra of 20 soles p/p), the Uros boatmen will take you on a short cruise across the water on one of these hand-made reed vessels
– a great photo opportunity and a chance to imagine how reed boats were used in ancient times. Visiting the Uros Floating Islands is a fascinating glimpse into a unique culture that has adapted to lake Titicaca.

Centro Ceremonial Pachatata
The main attractions on Amantani are its two mountain peaks, each with ancient ruins at the top. Pachamama (Mother Earth) and Pachatata (Father Earth) are pre-Inca temple sites that locals still use for annual ceremonies. Hiking to one of these summits (about 4,130 m elevation) is a highlight of the tour: at the top, you’ll find the stone remnants of the temple and 360° panoramic views of Lake Titicaca – truly awe-inspiring at sunset

Amantani Island
During your stay, you’ll be hosted by a local family in their home, which is a special experience itself. They will cook you meals with local ingredients (expect quinoa soup, potatoes, maybe fried cheese or eggs) and make you feel at home. In the evening, the community often invites visitors to a traditional dance party. You can dress up in the typical attire – men in ponchos and woolen caps, women in embroidered blouses and layered skirts with colorful belts – and dance to live Andean music with your hosts
It’s a fun, family-friendly celebration that showcases the music and happiness of Amantani’s people. Amantani Island is frequently noted as the favorite part of the tour by travelers because of this warm cultural immersion. The chance to live like a local for a day – eat in their kitchen, sleep in their home, and share stories despite language barriers – is what makes Amantani a truly enriching destination.
