Itinerary
1
Río Lasifashaj
We will leave Ushuaia on National Route N°3, going through the Vall de Tierra Mayor and passing by the winter resorts that offer snow-related activities between July and September. Then, we will detour along Route J, which runs along the Lasifashaj River, and visit Laguna Victoria and a picturesque waterfall hidden in the forest that is accessed after a short 10-minute walk.
20 minutes
2
Puerto Almanza
Route K takes us to Puerto Almanza, where a few families of artisanal fishermen catch crabs, salmon and other products from the Canal to offer in their small restaurants. Their light boats rest peacefully or shake violently depending on the intensity of the wind: here everything happens at the mercy of the whims of nature in its wildest state.
10 minutes
3
Canal Beagle
Along the route K, we will appreciate beautiful views of the Beagle Channel and Navarino Island, located in front.
4
Ruca Kellen - Strawberry Farm & Caffeteria
We will visit an organic farm and learn about the activities carried out there to obtain fruits and vegetables on land reclaimed from old beaver dams. We will also be able to discover their production of various artisanal products, such as sweets, liqueurs and jams.
30 minutes
5
Punta Paraná
A short distance from the farm is Punta Paraná, a subtle geographical feature that gives its name to an area that has no precise boundaries nor traces of civilization other than a few settlers. This landscape, reserved only for the most intrepid travelers, reveals the natural wealth of Tierra del Fuego in its purest expression. When the southwest wind blows strongly, the purest air in the world makes us dizzy, experiencing the sensation of being completely exposed to nature and uniquely connected to the environment.
Where there seems to be no possible refuge, we will find a small hidden path that takes us to a cozy cabin immersed in an old Coihue forest. After lighting the fireplace with firewood from the surroundings, we will delight in a dinner with local products, surrounded by an overwhelming serenity only interrupted by the crackling of the fire.
