Youngs River Falls – A North Coast Gem with Hollywood Credits
Just 10 miles south of Astoria, this 54-foot waterfall flows into a peaceful forest pool, surrounded by mossy trees and golden fall ferns. The water drops over a graceful 45-foot-wide horsetail formation — a photogenic highlight of the region.

Just 5 miles from Astoria, Fort Clatsop marks the 1805–1806 winter camp of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Tucked into lush coastal forest, this quiet, scenic site features a reconstructed log fort based on the explorers’ own journals.
Guests can walk through hollow-log cabins, explore short trails, and imagine life on the edge of discovery. Interpretive signs share how the Corps of Discovery mapped the region, made salt, recorded wildlife, and prepared for their return journey.
Part of the Lewis & Clark National Historical Park, Fort Clatsop is a peaceful, reflective stop filled with natural beauty and historical importance—great for photos and storytelling.
