Obidos
It is believed that the name "Obidus" derives from the Latin word oppidum, which means "citadel" or "fortified place".
Brief history of Óbidos:
Roman foundation and occupation: Obidos originated in a small Roman settlement due to its strategic location near important trade routes.
Villa das Rainhas (since the 13th century): In 1282, D. Dinis offered Óbidos as a wedding gift to his wife, Queen Santa Isabel. This gesture gave rise to a tradition in which the village was often donated to the Portuguese queens, becoming known as the "Villa das Rainhas"
It has become an important tourist destination, known for the International Chocolate Festival, the Medieval Fair and the Ginjinha (Ginja liqueur).
Today, Óbidos is a symbol of Portugal’s history and heritage, attracting visitors from all over the world with its medieval architecture, the castle that dominates the landscape and the cultural events that exalt the village.

Nazare
Nazaré is a Portuguese village located in the Leiria district in the Centro region, famous for its beaches, maritime traditions and giant waves that attract surfers from all over the world.
Legend of Our Lady of Nazareth (1182): The most striking story of Nazareth is the legend of the miracle of Our Lady of Nazareth. According to tradition, in 1182, the knight D. Fuas Roupinho was saved from falling into a cliff thanks to the miraculous intervention of the Virgin Mary. To thank him, he ordered to build the Chapel of Memory in the Site of Nazareth, making the site an important center of Marian devotion.
Nazareth gained fame with the phenomenon of giant waves, thanks to the Canyon of Nazareth, one of the largest underwater slopes in the world. In 2011, surfer Garrett McNamara placed Nazaré on the world map by surfing a wave of 23,77 meters. So, the village became one of the most sought after destinations for surfing. Today, Nazareth is a combination of history, culture and sport, continuing to enchant visitors with its beauty.

Aveiro
Aveiro, known as the "Venice of Portugal", is a city in the centre of Portugal, famous for its canals, moliceiros (traditional boats), salinas and architecture. Its history is marked by its connection to the sea and the river, which shaped the local economy and culture.
Origin of the colors:
Originally, these houses were used as fishing warehouses and painted practically, often with the paint remains used on boats.
The stripes were adopted as a decorative element, but it is believed that they also helped fishermen identify their homes remotely.
