Nazare
Nazaré has become world famous for having the largest surfing waves in the world, especially on North Beach, where the Nazaré Canyon (a underwater geological formation) generates waves that can exceed 30 meters.
Professional surfers and sports fans come to watch these feats, especially between October and March.
The world record for the longest surf wave (26.21 m by Sebastian Steudtner, in 2020) was broken here.
