In this workshop, we use authentic paints, tools, and materials that are nonetheless easy for beginners to handle. You will have the opportunity to create paints using traditional methods and then use them to paint, as well as experience adding brilliant decorative touches using gold leaf techniques. The workshop will be hosted at a small art gallery in Ginza, Tokyo. It is owned and operated by Akutsu-sensei, who will also be your instructor. Akutsu-sensei is a graduate of Tama Art University and Tsukuba University's art department. After graduation, he has built an international career as an artist and designer. He also has experience teaching at an art school, and at his art class.
Tokyo Art Place Gallery opened in 2025 to share art with everyone. He believes that art is for the people, not just for industry professionals.
