Itinerary
1
Cinta Costera
This is a project from 2009 that stole land from the sea to create a beautiful path along the bay of panama, which gives a nice view of the banking area and Balboa´s avenue. This avenue crosses the middle of the most modern city in Latin America. Here you will realize why Panama is called the Dubai and the Miami of Latin America.
2
Panama Viejo
This is our highlight, the historic city of Panama Viejo (The Pearls of the Pacific), World Heritage Site and the first European city In the pacific site of America.
Here we will see and walk through the ruins of the city that started the European conquest of the rest of America, through the streets that once passed the treasure of the Spanish crown, the same one that caught the attention of pirates and corsairs. We will visit its cathedral and convents.
30 minutes
3
Museo Panama Viejo
This complete museum will show us in a very didactic way what life was like in the city, and how it was attacked and destroyed.
15 minutes
4
Casco Viejo
We moved to 1673 and to the second city of Panama, better known as Casco Viejo or the Walled City. Here we will see how the city was moved and was transformed over the years. We will immerse ourselves in the history of its narrow streets, protection wall, churches, plazas and beautiful buildings that mix different eras and different styles. We will also have time to take beautiful pictures and to buy some local crafts.
2 hours
5
Plaza de la Catedral
This area will show us the transformation from the colonial era to the republican era. We will see a mixture of architectural styles and we will better understand the changes of the city.
6
Plaza de Francia
At this point we will see and talk about the French memorial, his attempt to make a Canal and his legacy. This area will give us one of the best views of the city.
10 minutes
7
Plaza Bolivar
We cannot pass by here without stopping and mentioning the visionary who knew that Panama would be the bridge of the world and the heart of the universe. Here We will take a few minutes to admire the majestic monument of Simon Bolivar, liberator of nations and father of the Latin American freedom.
