We will take you for a ride as if you were participating in a study campaign. You will try to be a researcher and you will discover how many apparently invisible elements will allow you to understand the history lived by the people, by the slaves, by the workers.
You'll see how these environments, built by the ancient Romans, have been used up to the present day.
first as quarries to take the building material, then as catacombs to bury the dead and finally, today, to grow mushrooms.
a unique, original experience ... not to be missed.

Itinerary
1
Parco degli Acquedotti - Parco Archeologico dell'Appia Antica
The park dedicated to Roman aqueducts. Here they pass 7 aqueducts in an area of few hectares, making this park unique in the world. In addition to these impressive archaeological structures, you will also see one of the city's peripheral sites, outside the normal tourist channels, almost exclusively meeting local people.
1 hour and 20 minutes
2
Acquedotto Marcio
Aqueduct built in 144 BC and partially used until recently because it was reused by the Felice aqueduct.
3
Acquedotto Felice
Aqueduct of 1500 AD built by Sixtus V (Pope Felice) reusing the arches of the Marcio.
The underground part of this aqueduct still works, and you can see the water leaking from the canal.
4
Acquedotto Claudio
The aqueduct with the healthiest water and at a height that allowed it to supply water to the entire city of Rome.
Its arches, high in some stretches even 30 meters, make it define a true "Water Giant".
5
Aqua Anio Vetus
The Anio vetus aqueduct, built by the emperor Claudius together with the Claudian aqueduct, was the highest in absolute of all the 11 aqueducts that supplied Rome.
