Itinerary
1
Strawberry Field
Visit the Strawberry Field visitor centre where you can explore the gardens, take selfies at the bandstand and imagine mosaic memorial, or buy coffee & souvenirs. This was a children’s home next to John Lennon’s house and inspired him to write the Beatles song. There is an optional chargeable exhibition here if you wish to see that.
30 minutes
2
Mendips - John Lennon Home
The tour buses do not let you off here so this is a rare opportunity to take selfies outside the childhood home of John Lennon. It is not possible to visit inside the house on this tour as it is owned by the National Trust.
10 minutes
3
Penny Lane
This is a photo stop and short walk around the famous Shelter in the Middle of a Roundabout! You can take photos at the road sign & John Lennon statue and of the bank & barber’s shop. You can also take photos at the Road sign which was in the James Corden and Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke episode. The stop also includes a drive past number 9 Newcastle Road the home of John Lennon until he was 5 years old and went to live with his Aunt Mimi.
