About
Access to the start of the trails is often a challenge if you are not among the first 20 cars allowed in and a high clearance vehicle is recommended. We offer a 4x4 ride in a safari vehicle from Lanzerac Hotel into the reserve to the start of the trail.
This way more distance can be covered than by walking to the start of the trail, which will add an extra 10km of jeep track to the trail.
DUE TO TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE IN THE RESERVE, WE NEED TO WALK THE EXTRA 10 KM OF JEEP TRACK IN THE RESERVE. OTHER HIKING ROUTES IN THE RESERVE CAN BE EXPLORED UNTIL THE ROAD RE-OPENS IN JULY 2026.

Jonkershoek Nature Reserve
Embark on an exhilarating expedition through the captivating wonders of Jonkershoek Nature Reserve to the awe-inspiring Waterfall with our Guided Hike experience.
Our adventure begins at our trail center situated across the Lanzerac Deli. From there, we'll embark on a scenic ride and hike along well-defined trails.
As we venture deeper into the heart of the reserve, you will feel connected with nature. Our itinerary culminates at the First or Second Waterfall.
If the weather or wet conditions does not permit a visit to the Second Waterfall and you are a seasoned hiker, we will go to a viewpoint from where you can see the waterfall.
Throughout the excursion, safety is our utmost priority, and our experienced guides will ensure that you have a memorable and worry-free experience.
