Ile aux Fouqets Lighthouse
Welcome to Ile Phare, also called Ile aux Fouquets!
This little island holds a big place in Mauritius’ history. First spotted by Dutch settlers back in 1598, it later became famous for its lighthouse, built in 1864. The lighthouse guided ships safely for decades, until the early 20th century.
Nestled in the bay of Mahébourg, Ile Phare wasn’t just scenic — it was strategic. During the legendary naval battles of Grand Port, this island played an important role, standing as a silent witness to Mauritius’ maritime past. Today, it’s a peaceful spot where history and beauty meet, perfect for curious explorers and photo lovers alike.

Grand River South East
As we glide along the Grand River South East, you’ll notice how the calm waters suddenly give way to the roar of Mauritius’ largest waterfall. Surrounded by tropical forest, this spot feels like a hidden paradise. Look up — you might see monkeys swinging through the branches or fruit bats soaring overhead. It’s a magical moment, and one of the island’s most photographed treasures.

5
Île de la Passe
Glide past the historic Ile de la Passe, a small yet significant islet famous for its pivotal role in the 1810 naval battle between French and British forces.
6
Ile aux Aigrettes
Cruising past Île aux Aigrettes is like glimpsing Mauritius in its purest form—home to rare species like the pink pigeon and giant Aldabra tortoises, all thriving thanks to conservation efforts. Then, slipping into the water to explore coral gardens and schools of tropical fish adds a whole other dimension of wonder. And of course, the possibility of dolphins joining the journey makes it feel like nature itself is welcoming you along for the ride.
