Guincho Beach
Guincho Beach
Praia do Guincho is a popular Atlantic beach located between sintra and the town of Cascais. This beach was famously featured in the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, wherein James Bond rescues Contessa Teresa de Vicenzo from a suicide attempt and foils off two attackers in the surf; the beach still looks as it did in 1969. More recently, the beach served as location for the shooting of the film This Side of Resurrection.
In the '90s, Guincho was one of the locations for the windsurfing world cup. Today, several sporting events are held at Guincho regularly, including the Portuguese National Surfing and BodyBoarding Championships.

Centro Historico de Cascais
Cascais
With an understated beauty, both in its mediterranean architecture as in its wild beaches, Cascais is one of the most exciting stops.
The sheer authenticity of a town and a people that has been largely unaffected by the times, make it one of the few destinations that feel, as of yet, undiscovered. Stroll the cobblestone roads leading down narrow, winding paths to the beach, watch local fishermen doing what they've done for centuries, and sample the freshest fish you'll find anywhere in Europe, straight from the ocean that unfolds before you. This is the true pleasure of Cascais; the pristine little details that make it so authentic.

Casino Estoril
Estoril
Estoril is famed as a luxury entertainment destination on the Portuguese Riviera, as home of the Casino Estoril. Estoril is one of the most expensive places to live in the Iberian Peninsula. It is home to a sizable foreign expat community and known for its luxury restaurants, hotels like Hotel Estoril Palacio. During the Second World War, the region was the centre of spies and diplomatic secrecy, it became an international tourist destination both during and after the Second World War. During that time, several dignitaries and exiles came to Estoril: the Infante Juan, Count of Barcelona father of Juan Carlos I of Spain, also Umberto II of Italy and Carol II of Romania. It was also in estoril that former Portuguese dictator António de Oliveira Salazar had a summer fortress house.
