Explore the natural beauty of Shivapuri National Park on a guided day hike from Kathmandu. After a short drive to Budhanilkantha, begin your hike from the Shivapuri National Park entrance gate, walking through peaceful pine and oak forests rich in wildlife and birdlife.
Along the trail, visit Nagi Gompa Monastery, a serene Buddhist retreat with beautiful valley views, and continue to Bagdwar, the sacred source of the Bagmati River and an important pilgrimage site for Hindus. Enjoy fresh mountain air, quiet trails, and panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding Himalayan ranges.
The hike is approximately 3–4 hours round trip, combined with a light local lunch break during the journey. Total tour duration is 5–6 hours hotel to hotel, depending on traffic.
