Neoclassical Pavilion – Atrium
In this space you will begin the visit with an introduction to the history of the Cathedral of Seville. The guide will explain the origin of the building as an ancient Almohad mosque and its subsequent transformation into one of the most important Christian temples in the world. The role of the Cathedral in the expansion of Christendom into the New World will also be discussed. During this stop, travelers will be able to see some of the most representative and best preserved paintings in the collection of the Cathedral Council.
Gothic Cathedral
Once inside the Cathedral, the guide will explain the main features of the Gothic temple. Travelers will discover the impressive size of the building, its height and the layout of its naves and chapels. During the visit you will also discuss the materials used in its construction and the architectural elements that make the Cathedral of Seville one of the masterpieces of European Gothic.

Torre Giralda
Travellers can access the Giralda to climb up its historic ramps to the bell tower, from where they enjoy magnificent views of Seville.

The guide will present the impressive Main Altarpiece of Seville Cathedral, considered the largest in the world. Visitors will discover its extraordinary artistic wealth and the iconography that represents different scenes of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ on Earth, carved in exceptional detail. During the explanation, its historical, religious and artistic importance within the whole Cathedral will be highlighted.
Choir and organs.
At this stop the guide will explain one of the most impressive spaces inside the Cathedral. Visitors can see the choir, made up of 117 carved seats, as well as the two large organs, which together number more than 7,000 tubes. The spectacular baroque organ box and the large rose window of about 4 meters in diameter that illuminates this temple space will also be highlighted.

Mausoleum of Christopher Columbus.
Before the impressive mausoleum of Christopher Columbus, the guide will narrate the most important moments of the admiral’s life, the agreement he reached with the Catholic Monarchs for his expedition and the mystery that has always surrounded his figure. It will also explain the historical debate about the authenticity of his mortal remains, one of the great conundrums linked to the Cathedral of Seville.
Chapel of the Chalices.
In this chapel visitors will discover two of the most outstanding works of the Cathedral. On the one hand, the painting of Santa Justa and Santa Rufina, painted by Francisco de Goya, where the guide will explain the history of these saintly martyrs and their great importance as patron saints of Seville. You can also contemplate the crucified Christ of Francisco de Zurbarán, one of the most striking representations of Spanish Baroque.

Here you can admire the impressive Custody of the Corpus Christi silver, one of the most valuable pieces of the Cathedral treasure. Important works of art such as San Isidoro and San Leandro painted by Murillo, The Descent of Pedro de Campaña and a representation of Santa Teresa de Jesus by Zurbarán will also be contemplated.
Before the Cabildo Hall and Chapter Room.
In these two important Renaissance rooms, the guide will explain the role of the Cathedral Council in the administration and religious life of the temple. Visitors will discover the Cabildo’s Anteroom and Chapter Room, spaces where the canons gathered to celebrate their meetings and make the most important decisions related to the Cathedral. It will also discuss the artistic and architectural characteristics that make these rooms two of the best examples of the Renaissance in Seville.

Treasure Hall and Chapel Royal
In the Treasure Hall, visitors can see an important collection of sacred art belonging to the Cathedral, made up of valuable liturgical pieces made of precious metals and used in the great religious celebrations of the temple.
The visit will continue in the Chapel Royal, one of the most solemn spaces of the Cathedral. Here the guide will explain the historical importance of this place, where several members of the Castilian monarchy rest, including King Ferdinand III, conqueror of Seville. It will also present the venerated image of the Virgin of the Kings, patron saint of the city and one of the most important devotions of Seville.

At this stop the guide will explain the meaning of the trachoir, one of the most prominent spaces inside the Cathedral. Here visitors can look at the tomb of Hernando Colón, son of Cristobal Colón, a humanist and great collector of books, whose library was one of the most important of its time.
Chapel of San Antonio de Padua.
In this chapel the guide will explain some of the most outstanding works that house the Cathedral. Visitors can see the famous painting of San Antonio de Padua, by Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, as well as the stained glass window dedicated to Santa Justa and Santa Rufina, patron saints of Seville. The historic baptismal stack, one of the oldest and most valuable pieces of the temple, will also be displayed.
