Lagoa do Fogo is one of the most picturesque and untouched spots on São Miguel Island. From the Vista do Rei viewpoint (Sete Cidades, São Miguel Island), you can see one of the most iconic landscapes of the Azores: • Sete Cidades Lake, with its two distinct parts — Lagoa Azul (Blue Lake) and Lagoa Verde (Green Lake), separated by a bridge; • The caldera of an extinct volcano, surrounded by steep slopes; • The village of Sete Cidades, nestled along the lake’s edge; • On clear days, the ocean visible on the horizon.

From the Miradouro da Lagoa de Santiago viewpoint (Sete Cidades, São Miguel), you get a stunning view of: • Lagoa de Santiago — a deep, dark green crater lake with an almost perfectly circular shape; • Steep caldera slopes covered with dense forests of cryptomeria and laurel trees.

Ponta da Ferraria is a unique spot on São Miguel, where hot geothermal springs meet the Atlantic Ocean. Here, you can bathe in a natural pool with warm water, its temperature varying with the tide: it’s especially pleasant during low tide.
