This tour includes 3 cities, visiting fortresses and castles. If we count time, how long will we be in the castles and fortresses that will take 2 hours and 35 minutes to visit. But if the tour starts from the time when visitors enter the transportation car, from one place to another, and return to the starting point it will take a total of 10 hours and 45 minutes.

We can start our adventure from either the Aria Mall or your hotel. Then you’ll meet your friendly and knowledgeable driver and tour guide. From there, we’ll head to the Vranduk fortress, a medieval castle that has stood the test of time. Next, we’ll visit the Tesanj Castle, a stunning fortress that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Finally, we’ll explore the Srebrenik fortress, a well-preserved castle that dates back to the 14th century. Throughout the tour, you’ll learn about the fascinating history of these fortresses and the role they played in shaping Bosnia’s past.

Vranduk Fortress - Muzej Grada Zenice
Vranduk fortress is a medieval castle that has stood the test of time. It is located on a sheer rock above the River Bosnia and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The fortress was built during the Bosnian Kingdom and once served as the residence of the 15th-century Bosnian King Stjepan Tomas 1. The castle is composed of a citadel with the main tower and a protective wall, surrounding the interior of medieval town 2. It is one of many medieval Bosnian towns with intensive political, economic, and cultural life. The fortress is a popular visitor attraction and has been declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tesanj Castle
Tešanj Castle is a fortress located in Tešanj, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is one of the biggest historical defensive fortifications in the country, with an area of 6,296 square meters. The castle was built during the Bronze Age and was later enhanced by the Romans, Slavs, and Ottomans. During the Ottoman period, the fortress had a permanent Ottoman Army garrison. The castle is composed of a citadel with a main tower and a protective wall, surrounding the interior of medieval town. The castle is also home to three museums, including a museum tower that showcases exhibits like the Ottoman Turkish flag from the Battle of Mohacs and a presentation of the history of Tesanj from the 19th and 20th centuries, including its major personalities such as the mayor Hamdibey Ajanovic and famous politician Zijad-bey Djonlagic. During the tour, you’ll learn about the fascinating history of the fortress and the role it played in shaping Bosnia’s past.

After visiting the Tesanj Castle, we will stop for lunch at the Kapija Grill House restaurant. The restaurant is located neer by Tesanj Castle and is known for its delicious grilled dishes and cozy atmosphere. The menu features a variety of dishes, including grilled meats, fresh salads, and homemade soups.

Srebrenik Fortress
Srebrenik Fortress is one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Bosnia and Herzegovina, dating back to 1333. The fortress is located on the northeastern slopes of Majevica mountain in the village of Gornji Srebrenik, about 5 km away from the city center. It is built on a steep, almost inaccessible rock with a deep trench dug underneath, with the only entrance being a small bridge. The castle was occupied by the Ban of Bosnia, Stephen II Kotromanic, until his death in 1353. The fortress has been declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina since November 2004.

Vjetrenica Cave
Vjetrenica is the largest cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the most biodiverse cave in the world. It is part of the Dinaric Alps mountain range, which is known for its karstic and speleological features. The cave is located in the Popovo field in Ravno, East Herzegovina in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
