Pick up at 7:00 AM and drive north to Samburu National Reserve to arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive from 4:00 PM to dusk.
The Reserve is a place of baked brown earth and parched vegetation, visit the Ewaso N’giro River which is surrounded by a permanent ribbon of green, with tamarinds, doum palms and acacia which provide respite from the sweltering sun. watch Elephant, buffalo and waterbuck frequent the woodland and Impala herds take shelter under the trees as Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe and gerenuk take a drink. Lion, leopard and cheetah can also be found here, while, up above, martial eagles, bateleurs and pygmy falcons patrol the skies.
