Named in the early 11th century after the Christian martyr Saint Catherine of Alexandria, the monastery is a site of great historical and spiritual significance.
Next, visit Mount Sinai (Jabal Musa), a 2,285-meter (7,497 ft) peak in the Sinai Peninsula near the city of Saint Catherine. The area is surrounded by even higher mountains, including Mount Catherine, Egypt’s tallest peak at 2,629 meters (8,625 ft). After your exploration, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
