Established in 1879, it is the world’s second-oldest national park and spans over 15,000 hectares of dramatic coastal cliffs, lush rainforests, and tranquil waterways. See all types of birds species, especially Lyre birds, Kookaburras, Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos, Rosellas. Opportunities to see marsupials especially Swamp Wallabies are possible & many more reptiles.
Hikers can explore a network of well-marked trails suited to all fitness levels — from leisurely coastal walks to challenging full-day treks. The iconic Coast Track, stretching from Bundeena to Otford, showcases stunning ocean views, secluded beaches, and unique sandstone formations, while the Forest Path offers a serene journey through towering eucalypts and subtropical rainforest.

On rare occasions, visitors may be fortunate enough to spot a whale accompanied by its calf swimming along the coastline.

Wattamolla Beach, located within the Royal National Park, is one of the most sought-after day trip destinations from Sydney.
