Roskilde is a town in Denmark located in the north of the island of Zealand, at the end of the Roskilde Fjord, which overlooks a small harbour. Roskilde is also the capital of the municipality of the same name, the largest city in the administrative region of Seland, with 47,828 inhabitants, and the tenth largest in the country.

The ship exhibition is located in the harbour that gives access to the fjord, the departure point of many ships. Also, among the vessels in the collection is the largest Viking ship in the world. Its 37-metre length could hold up to a hundred warriors ready to fight wherever it docked. The visit is from the outside.

Declared a World Heritage Site. It was built in the Middle Ages between the 12th and 13th century. Entirely built in red brick, it was the cause of the spread of this style in Northern Europe. Most of the kings and queens of Denmark are buried here, and it was therefore adapted to the tastes of different times until the 20th century by means of minor side extensions: porches and chapels. This makes the cathedral a chronological frieze of the evolution of Christian building architecture in Northern Europe.
