Day 4
Day 5
Red Beach, Claudio Coutinho path, Sugarloaf hiking/climbing, Urca hill, and a music event at night.
5 Stops
1
Sugarloaf Mountain Cable Car
The eastern side of Sugarloaf referred to as the Costão, allows for an enchanting hike up to the top of the mountain, providing you with spectacular views of the sea, forest, and mountain, as well as the lovely city of Niterói, all in one place.
The trail starts at the end of the paved, shaded Cláudio Coutinho path in Urca. The hike is mostly on rock slab, with the last section going through closed vegetation. 3/4 of the way up there there is a short, 15-meter section that must be climbed using climbing equipment (a rope and a harness). While the hike and the short climb can be done by people of all ages, it must be led by an experienced climber. The journey lasts 5 hours on average, with stops for photos and rest.
After this adventure, we will meet up later on for live music and caipirinhas.

Praia Vermelha
Praia Vermelha, named after its reddish sands, is a beach with calm waters and a small stretch of sand. Its surroundings boast the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain, making it a well-known spot. Another advantage is the safety of the area, as it is located within a military environment.

Claudio Coutinho Trail
The Cláudio Coutinho Trail, also known as Bem-te-Vi Path and Costão Road, is located at Praia Vermelha in the Urca neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is named in honor of Cláudio Coutinho, a former coach of the Brazilian National Football Team and a graduate of the Army Physical Education School.
It is part of the Natural Monument of Pão de Açúcar and Urca Hills, created by Municipal Decree No. 26.578 on June 1, 2006.
Inaugurated by the Brazilian Army in the late 1980s, the trail stretches for 1.25 km, with distance markers every 50 meters. It surrounds the Morro da Urca, with access starting from Praia Vermelha. Through some trails from this path, it is possible to access the Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain).
