Battistero Neoniano (Battistero degli Ortodossi)
The octagonal shape of the Byzantine baptisteries has a strong symbolic value, with the eight sides representing the seven days of creation and the eighth day of resurrection and eternal life, thus connecting to the sacrament of Baptism. At the center of the baptistery is the baptismal font, also octagonal in shape and dating back to the Renaissance era.
