Luza Square
We’ll stop in front of St. Blaise’s Church, dedicated to the patron saint of Dubrovnik, and talk about his deep historical and cultural significance for the city.
From there, we’ll have a beautiful view of the Sponza Palace, one of the few buildings that survived the great earthquake. We’ll discuss how its preservation symbolized the resilience of Dubrovnik and played a key role in the city’s recovery.
At this stop, we’ll also reflect on the Homeland War in Dubrovnik — an important and painful chapter of our recent history.
In addition, we’ll talk about the historical importance of Dubrovnik, especially its trade, ships, and diplomacy, and explore how the city managed to maintain its independence for centuries, despite being surrounded by two powerful enemies.

Rector's Palace
In front of the Rector’s Palace, we’ll talk about its historical role as the seat of government and the Rector’s residence during the time of the Republic of Dubrovnik.
We’ll explore how the building reflects the political structure of the Republic, its dedication to law, order, and civic responsibility, and the symbolism behind its architecture.
Entry to the palace is not included in the tour, but if you wish to visit the interior and museum, we can adjust the timing and make a short stop inside upon request

We’ll talk about its religious and historical importance, as well as the legends and stories connected to its origin and reconstruction.
We’ll also discuss the significance of religion in the everyday life of Dubrovnik’s citizens, both in the past and today.
If you’d like to step inside, we can do so depending on opening hours and group interest

Gunduliceva Poljana Market
Our tour will conclude at the Dubrovnik Market on Gundulićeva Poljana, a lively spot where locals sell fresh produce, flowers, and traditional products.
This is usually where I give you the opportunity to ask any remaining questions or decide if there’s anything else you’d like to learn about Dubrovnik.
Feel free to let me know if you want to explore more or if you need recommendations for the rest of your stay
