Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte
The castle of Vaux le Vicomte was built by King Louis XIV for his finance minister Nicolas Fouquet. He then hired the renowned Louis Le Vau, the architect, Charles Le Brun, painter and decorator and the gardener André le Nôtre.
The castle was such a success that it inspired the Chateau de Versailles and other castles in Europe.
