A bustling market town famed for having the widest high street in England. At the end of the high street sits Marlborough College whose previous alumni include Catherine, Princess of Wales, as well as numerous other royals and celebrities. The 17th century merchant's house and museum sit in the middle of the high street where guided tours can be booked for an additional charge.

The Kennet and Avon Canal runs through the town with an impressive flight of 29 locks climbing over a two mile stretch and has a cafe half way along selling delicious ice creams and snacks.
Wadworth Brewery, whose red-brick dominates the town, has been brewing since 1875. There are several old traditional pubs in the town selling their beers for you to sample

Lacock
Another picture perfect town of the southern Cotswolds, preserved and little changed in 200 years with its 14th century tithe barn, quaint tea rooms and independent craft shops. It has been used as the location of many a period drama including Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Julian Fellows' Downton Abbey, and the Cranford TV series based on a novel by Elizabeth Gaskell. Lacock Abbey, once the home of William Henry Fox Talbot, inventor of the photographic, is open to the public for an additional charge. The interior and cloisters are easily recognizable as Hogwarts school in the Harry Potter movies.
