Village where are living the victims of the natural calamities from Svaneti Region, Because of the hard climate and communication problems many people abandoned the village and went back to Svaneti. The name "Udabno" means desert

David Gareja Monastery
The monastery locates 70 km away from Tbilisi, however the road takes long time to arrive because of the infrastructure, but recently the repair process starts and this season the road will be more comfortable. The Lavra is the main monastery and means important place of the monastery complex. The monastery was founded by father David who arrived from Assyria in 6 century to preach Christianity and established the monastery life culture. By that time the monasteries over total area were 19 but now retains just few. Soviets this places using as military training field and and the caves as shooting targets but later the site was terminated and again regain monastery life there.
