Gutmanala is the largest grotto in the Baltic States and is known as a cult place. Up until the 19th century, people would come here to make their offerings to the deities. Cave is also known for inscriptions on its walls, some of them dating back to 1668 and 1677. It is 10 meters high, 12 meters wide and 18.8 meters deep.

Turaida Castle
Turaida Castle is a symbol of Sigulda. The building of the castle began in 1214, under the direction of Albert, Bishop of Riga. Periodically the archbishop`s estate and property, including Turaida, were governed by Livonian Order. Throughout history, many battles took place there and the castle had several owners until the 17th century when it lost its military significance and became a private property. Today it is the most visited museum in Latvia. Castle is located on the edge of Gauja valley offering a stunning view from the top floor of the Main Tower.

Krimulda estate
Krimulda manor is one of the most vivid examples of Classicism style villa architecture in Latvia. Most accounts of the life in the manor have been preserved from the time of the von Lieven family – the last owners of the manor in the 19th century. However, the cultural layers of the Krimulda castle mounds have revealed evidence that people have lived here for thousands of years. The history of the Krimulda castle itself dates back to the 13th century. The first Krimulda castle was located closer to river Gauja and its ruins can still be seen. We also recommend wine tasting at manor winery - Cremon. Winery offers about 15 kinds of wines and 10 liqueurs, as well as calvados and gin, made in Krimulda manor, though the range of beverages is expanded every year. Over the years, the most popular “Cremon” products are the gently bitter dandelion wine, cranberry wine and the dreamy lilac wine.
