Visit Plaza de Armas, the historic heart of Santiago and the city’s main square since colonial times. Surrounded by important landmarks, this lively plaza reflects the cultural and historical foundation of Chile’s capital.
As you explore, your guide will point out and explain key sites such as the Central Post Office (formerly the Presidential Palace), the National Historical Museum, the Municipality of Santiago, and the statue of Pedro de Valdivia. You will also admire the architecture of the surrounding historic buildings while learning about Santiago’s origins, colonial past, and cultural evolution.

Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago de Chile
Enter the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago, the city’s main Catholic cathedral located in Plaza de Armas. Originally built in the 18th century after several earlier structures were destroyed by earthquakes, the cathedral stands as a symbol of Santiago’s resilience and religious heritage.
Inside, you will admire its neoclassical architecture, richly decorated altars, and intricate details, while your guide explains its history, artistic elements, and its role in Chile’s cultural and spiritual life.

Portal Fernandez Concha
Visit Portal Fernández Concha, one of Santiago’s traditional commercial galleries, located in the heart of the historic center. These galleries are a unique feature of the city, with dozens spread across downtown, offering a glimpse into local daily life.
This particular gallery is known as a hub for Santiago’s street food and is considered the birthplace of the Chilean “completo,” the country’s iconic hot dog. As you explore, you will see a variety of local food options, and if you wish, you can try some of these traditional flavors.
From here, we will also pass through and discover other nearby galleries, experiencing this distinctive and lively part of Santiago’s culture.

Paseo Bandera
Walk along Paseo Bandera, a vibrant pedestrian street in Santiago’s financial district, often compared to a “Wall Street” of the city. Surrounded by historic buildings, banks, and the nearby stock exchange, this colorful avenue blends Santiago’s economic heart with striking urban art. As you explore, your guide will share insights into Chile’s financial history and the transformation of this iconic street into a lively cultural space.
At the end of the street, you will see from the outside the Pre-Columbian Museum, the Supreme Court, and the former National Congress, where your guide will explain their history and significance.

Alameda
Explore Alameda Avenue, Santiago’s main boulevard and one of the city’s most historically significant avenues. Stretching across the capital, it has witnessed key moments in Chile’s history, including recent social movements such as the 2019 protests, which your guide will help put into context.
Along the way, you will see important landmarks such as the University of Chile and the Pontifical Catholic University, two of the country’s most prestigious institutions. You will also visit one of Santiago’s metro stations, known for its artistic design and integration of public art.
Surrounded by historic buildings, cultural sites, and everyday city life, this stop offers a deeper understanding of Santiago’s past, present, and identity.

La Moneda
See La Moneda Palace, Chile’s presidential palace and one of the most important political buildings in the country. Originally built in the late 18th century as a colonial mint, it later became the seat of government and has played a central role in Chile’s history.
During this stop, you will view the palace from the outside while your guide explains its architecture, historical significance, and key events that have taken place here. Please note that entrance is not included.

La Moneda Cultural Center
Visit the Centro Cultural Palacio de La Moneda, an underground cultural space showcasing exhibitions of traditional handicrafts created by indigenous artisans from across Chile. As you explore, your guide will introduce you to the country’s diverse indigenous cultures, their history, and artistic traditions. A restroom stop is also available at this location.

Cerro San Cristobal
Visit San Cristóbal Hill, one of Santiago’s most iconic landmarks, located within the city’s largest urban park. To reach the summit, you will ride the cable car (ticket included), enjoying panoramic views as you ascend above the city.
At the top, take in breathtaking views of Santiago and the Andes Mountains while your guide explains the history and significance of the site, including the sanctuary and the towering statue of the Virgin Mary, a major symbol of faith and a popular pilgrimage destination.
To complete the experience, you will descend via the historic funicular (ticket included), offering another unique perspective of the city and the park.
