Rudnik sveta Barbara (The Saint Barbara mine)
Become a Miner for a Day at the St. Barbara Mine!
Ready for something truly different? Swap your daily routine for a helmet and a headlamp, and step into the mysterious world beneath Rude! At the St. Barbara Mine, you’ll feel like a real miner—just for a day. Equipped with a hard hat and mining light, you’ll explore centuries-old tunnels carved deep into the earth, once rich with iron and copper.
This isn’t your typical tourist stop. Mines aren't something you visit every day—and that’s exactly what makes it so special. It's unusual, fun, and refreshingly offbeat! Hear fascinating stories of miners' lives, discover old tools, and enjoy a hands-on adventure that’s both educational and exciting.

Samobor
Just a short ride from Zagreb, Samobor is a small baroque town full of charm, color, and character. Nestled at the foot of the Žumberak hills and surrounded by forests, hiking trails, and vineyards, it’s a beloved escape for locals and a hidden gem for visitors.
You’ll wander through the historic center, full of artisan shops and cozy corners. Samobor is also famous for its hand-cut crystal, known throughout Croatia and beyond for its craftsmanship. We’ll visit a boutique dedicated to Samobor crystal – a sparkling piece of local tradition. (Closed on weekends.)
And as any visit to Samobor demands – we’ll sit down for coffee and a slice of the iconic kremšnita.
To round off the day, we highly recommend trying Samobor’s traditional dishes in one of its long-standing local restaurants. Whether it’s Samobor salami, češnofka sausage, hearty soups, or slow-cooked meat, a delicious lunch is the perfect end to your visit.
